Wedding cupcakes...

I finally receive order for wedding cupcakes! This is an order from my sec sch co friend Michelle who was engaged recently. Congratulations to her! And so she requested for a set of wedding cupcakes to surprise her fiance at the airport who is back from overseas. So sweet! She had specific requirement such as their names and 2 specific dates on the cupcakes which should be their ROM and banquet date I guess (and I realised it turns out to be 1314 which means eternity).

So I placed some weddng elements on the cupcakes such as the ring, the wedding cake, the dress, etc. Not forgetting the bride and the groom in the middle!

Here's wishing Michelle and Jonathan have an everlasting and blissful marriage in advance!

Darts cake...

Been getting very interesting orders lately and Hui Zhen actually ordered a few cakes/cupcakes in one go! Thanks for the support! This time round she wanted a darts cake for her friend Derek's birthday and I gladly took up the challenge with the faith she had in me.

I did some planning before hand so as to get the right circle with the right numbers of cuts in between, etc. In the end, I realised it was not really a very hard cake to do and it came up quite nicely and neatly. So glad I took up the challenge! LOL.

This was a delivery to be sent to a KTV pub and there were darts machine in the pub and it was so apt. She requested for the name to be written in chinese as 刘少. Same surname as me!

Hope 刘少 had an awesome birthday with his darts cake and will be able to shoot right at the bulls eye!

Snowboarding cupcakes...

An order from Christina who wanted to order a set of snowboarding cupcakes for her best friend. Apparently they are going on a snowboarding trip thus the request and she is going to surprise her friend with the advanced birthday cupcakes when they reach there. So sweet of her! She requested for 2 figurines to represent 2 of them and here's how the final cupcakes look like.

I really think the figurines are very cute (self praise) LOL. Sis says it's because I covered their eyes that's why it looks cute (that means I have not been making nice eyes?) LOL.

Hope the girls enjoy their snowboarding trip and have fun!

Arsenal soccer cake for 1st birthday!

This is an order from Tze Wei where she is ordering a birthday cake for her nephew Danzel's 1st birthday. Her sister, Tze Han wanted an Arsenal soccer cake (probably because they are fan of the soccer club) as they are having a soccer themed party.

She wanted a 3 tier cake with specific requirements such as a soccer ball on top with the number 1 on it, the arsenal logo with the jerseys (number 23 with the name Danzel on it) and shorts. At first, it was hard to do up the Arsenal logo, but luckily, I found someone on facebook who sells icing image where we can send them the picture to print on the icing. Therefore, I sent them the Arsenal logo for printing and managed to fulfill all her requirements. Check out the final product!

This is my first 3 tier cake and I'm quite pleased with the end result! I inserted pillars on the base cake for greater stability. I liked how the ball sits nicely on the top with the Arsenal logo. Glad that I managed to find the icing image where it really makes the cake feels more soccer-ish, LOL.

Happy Birthday Danzel!

Yes it's the minion again! This is an order from Jason for his gf's birthday. It's really a simple cake and after numerous and countless attempts at it, it can be counted as my best-seller cake! LOL.

Hope Jason's gf likes it and Happy Birthday to her!

Mahjong cake for the mahjong lovers!

An order from sis again for her friend Mildred's birthday. Time flies and it had been a year where last year she ordered an "I-chat" cake for her. Check it out below if you have not.

http://jembakes.blogspot.sg/2013/09/i-chat-cake-for-virtual-friend.html

So this time round they are no longer virtual friends but mahjong kakis instead. LOL. They arranged to have a mahjong session with their friends and therefore sis wanted a mahjong cake which will be very apt for the occasion.

I seldom play mahjong so I'm not very familiar with the tiles and the colours of it. So just did a few which are easier to do. Not forgetting the chips and the dice on the table and it turns out quite well!

Happy birthday Mildred!
Check out their mahjong party below!

Hope you like the cake and win lots of money!

http://jembakes.blogspot.sg/2013/07/mickey-mouse-clubhouse-cupcakes.html

I think I'm getting really good at cutting out the hellokitty face now and it looks really nice and neat and not out of shape. LOL.

She also requested for a card to go with the cupcakes as it was a birthday surprise for her friend Vivian. That's really sweet of her! She is also getting a few more cakes and cupcakes from me so stay tuned for more of her orders! Really very thankful to her for being so supportive and putting her trust in me!

Hope Vivian likes the cupcakes and enjoys her birthday!

Pigs swimming in the mud yet again...

Another order for chocolate pig cake! This time round is from Li Li who is ordering for her niece, Tiffany's birthday. So being quite experienced in it now, the cake was done up pretty fast and neat.

Happy Birthday Tiffany!

Daddy's 62nd Birthday!

It's the time of the year again and how time flies, we are at 分享3 now. Still vividly remembers how we were preparing for Daddy's birthday celebration and the displaying of his art and mummy came out with this title 分享 which is very apt and meaningful (means to share in eng). Check out 分享1 and 2 below if you have not.

http://jembakes.blogspot.sg/2013/09/daddys-61st-birthday.html

So I am once again tasked with preparing the cake and here it is!

The "golf ball" to be placed on top.
Mummy wanted to try out rainbow cake again and therefore, this is her 3rd attempt on it!

Looking nice and more presentable with a great height.
The ball and cake ready to be decorated.
So the decoration process for this cake is quite simple. I wrapped the "golf ball" in white fondant and used a round ball mold to press into the cake to make the depressions that are seen in a golf ball. Made a man figurine to represent my Dad with a golf club and his golf bag. However, my golf club is a bit soft and not straight as I did not wait for it to harden and placed it straight on the figurine. Nevertheless, the golf cake is complete!

Happy Birthday Daddy!
Up next is the celebration! As we are having a rainbow cake, sis suggested having a rainbow theme party where we will each wear a colour of the rainbow. Check out our nicely coordinated colours below!

Me and bf in red!
Sis and bf in blue!
The three sisters in primary colours.
Mummy in nice solid pink as well.

The rainbow colours!
This time round Wayne and me had a chance to display our drawings as well! It's an art sharing from the 3 generations. LOL.

Pardon my childish drawings.
Wayne is learning drawing now and is really good at it!
So before the cake cutting session, the kids were playing and kicking around with a ball and bf and me had to be bodyguards to my cake!

Finally it's time for cake-cutting!

The rainbow cake within!
This time round we had a much extended family and thanks all for the help provided! Happy 62nd birthday to my dearest Daddy and we will be back for 分享4!
