Princess Ulyss turns 3!

Time flies and it's really scary how kids can grow up so fast ( me getting old as well). 1 year ago, Ulyss was still a toddler with not much vocab and now she can express herself very well with the vocab she has and has grown up to be a sweet and active little girl (prettier with longer hair as well). Check out her birthday last year below.

And she is growing up like all little girls, in love with princesses, hello kitty and anything girly. So for her birthday this year, my da jie wanted a celebration for her in school as well as at home. And the little girl requested for Princess Sofia cupcakes (she even chose her own icing image designs).

The images Ulyss chose.
Look at how happy the little girl is!

Next up is her birthday celebration on the actual day! My er jie and I chanced upon a very princessy playhouse at UE square called The Tiara Society. They have a carriage inside which straight away caught my eyes and they have all the princess dresses for the kids to role play in. So we decided to bring our little princess there on her birthday (more so to satisfy our own craving as we pay for the kids and adults go in for free). And the birthday girl had to change into different princess dresses to satisfy our wishes to be the princess that we like. LOL.

Me and Princess Belle!
Miss universe wannabe!
Us with Princess Aurora!
The "Frozen" sisters!
Us with Princess Sofia!
Us with Mulan!
Er jie and her Princess Jasmine!
Da jie with her Snow White!
Our little princess!

Princess Ariel!
Princess Ulyss is waiting for her prince!
Princess Sofia!
Princess Elsa!
We had a lot of fun changing her into different dresses and it is really a very girly and nice place. Not to mention that there was no other people there at that time and it seems like we have booked the whole place for her. LOL. They also allow people to book the place for birthday parties and I think it will be really fun for the kids. Too bad I'm too old for all these.

After a fun-filled day out, we had her birthday celebration at home along with my Da jie's other friends who had kids whose birthday is in the month of Feb as well. Therefore they had a small party for the kids to play together and celebrate their birthdays together. So there is 3 kids celebrating their birthdays together, Ulyss, Josiah and Dylan. Da Jie suggested the cupcakes to be designed according to the favourite character that each kid likes. Ulyss loves hellokitty, Josiah likes dinosaur and Dylan likes elephant as he has a soft toy elephant named Ellie.

So here are the cupcakes.

Josiah, Ulyss, Dylan

Happy birthday my dear gal!

So the little princess had an eventful birthday this year. Xiao yi hope that you will continue to grow up healthy and lively! We all love you! Happy birthday Ulyss!

Beer keg cake...

This is a referral from Hong Leong who ordered the lion cake previously. His friend Caroline wanted to order a beer keg cake for her sister Cheryl's birthday. The design of this cake is that of a beer keg with a girl sitting on top of it and drinking the beer from a tube out of the tap of the keg. She must be a good drinker! LOL.

Happy birthday Cheryl! Hope you had an enjoyable drinking session on your birthday!

My Melody cupcakes...

Another order from Hui Zhen and I'm really grateful for her continuous support and trust. This time round she wanted a set of my melody cupcakes for her friend Tiffany.

This is a set of simple and sweet cupcakes. Hope Tiffany likes it!

Lion cake...

An order from Hong Leong who wanted a lion cake for his son's birthday. He sent me a photo of the lion which is on his son's pillow and is his son's favourite character. Therefore, I cut out a 2D lion image from fondant based on the picture he provided and this is quite a simple cake.

Hong Leong said that his son loves the cake and he sent me a photo of his son with the cake. Happy 1st birthday Guan Yi!

The little boy seems eager to eat the cake. LOL!

My little twin stars cake and cupcakes set...

This is an order from Kireio who previously ordered a set of minion cake and cupcakes for her son's first birthday. Check it out below.

Now it's time for her daughter's 1st birthday! This time round she wanted my little twin stars theme cake and cupcakes for her daughter. As I do not have the mould for the characters, I cut the shape out by free hand and luckily it turns out quite well!

The cupcakes are also in line with the theme with stars and rainbow. Hope little Callia had a wonderful 1st birthday!

Rolls royce cupcakes...

A major event of last year is that there is a new addition to my family! Welcome Ben, my second bro-in-law into our family! And so he has a new opening ceremony in his department at Rolls royce (he does not sells cars, he sell airplane engines) and he wanted some cupcakes for the occasion. So he gave me pictures of the logo of his company and of airplane engines (which I have no idea how to decipher) and I came up with the cupcakes as per the pictures. But pardon the engine, I really cannot decipher much about it. LOL.

Hope his colleagues like the cupcakes, especially his bosses!

My little pony cake...

Another set of my little pony cake. I didn't know that my little pony is this popular (generation gap I guess). LOL.

But this time round it's an order from Siska who wanted to order this cake for her daughter Vianne's 6th birthday. I bought the cake toppers beforehand and as she wanted a different design to my previous ones, I created a new design for her with a pink base as per her request. It is much easier to work with toppers (minus the molding and carving effort) but it's very tricky to make the toppers stay on the cake without toppling. This is especially so when the ponies are only standing on 2 legs! LOL. So I created "clouds" using the fondant and stick the legs of the ponies into it to ensure that it stays on the cake nicely.

Happy 6th birthday Vianne!

Cupcakes for him and for her...

An order from Agnes who wanted to order cupcakes for a little boy and a little girl who are having their birthday a few days apart. So for the little girl 1st birthday, she wanted my melody cupcakes, and for the little boy 5th birthday, she wanted blue and green with ABCs and 123s elements. So this is quite a simple order with specific designs for both the boy and the girl.

Hope both the children likes the cupcakes and Happy birthday to both!

2D Hellokitty cake!

It's an order from Hui Zhen again! This time round she wanted a 2D hellokitty cake. Given that I do not have any hellokitty stencils or cutters, I would have to carve the shape out on my own. But the hellokitty may go out of shape very easily if I carve it out freehand. So I first sketched the hellokitty on a tracing paper (lucky my drawing is still passable) and then I paste the tracing paper on a rolled out fondant and cut out the shape of the hellokitty from there. And the end result turn out really good. It is one of my best hellokitty cake ever and really glad that the hellokitty did not go out of shape. LOL.

Thanks Hui Zhen for giving me this chance to try out this cake and hope you like it! Happy 1st birthday Valerie!
